Whistleblower

Breaking: https://news.axjmdr.com/whistleblowers/

Hello California Coastal Commission

The Essex Marina City Club in Marina del Rey does not have a certificate of occupancy for the apartment building or condominiums.

What is the position of the California Coastal Commission on the safety of the Essex Marina City Club, since it is under your purview? ( See email sent to LA County, and David and Roy building and safety Inspectors).

It appears the Essex Marina City Club is similiar to Champlain Towers in Surfside.

Please see evidence provided in this email.

If the Marina City Club Towers partially collapse in an earthquake, LA County and the California Coastal Commission, will have had prior knowledge of the dangerous structural conditions.  ( See attachment where structural engineering firm Saiful Bouquet says ” The analyses show that the punching shear transfer mechanism is a critical brittle mechanism for all 3 Towers and they will be overstressed in a major earthquake possibly resulting in significant structural damage and potential partial collapse of the building for the BSE-2E Earthquake Hazard).

There was a 7.3 earthquake in Northern California today. Dr. Lucy Jones from Caltech said we are due for a very big earthquake in Southern California.

We recently had a 24 hour power outage in Marina del Rey.

Seniors and disabled were trapped in their Essex Marina City Club Tower condominiums, because the elevator did not work.  Marina City Club Management did not check on the seniors and disabled during the power outage. Imagine if the Marina City Club Towers partially collapsed in an earthquake, how many residents would be dead?

Home and Condo owners on the verge of revolt and need to be relocated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA ) until the Marina Area is safe again!

Due to specific hazards (e.g., structural instability, gas, contamination, landslide risk, or post-disaster unsafe conditions in a particular complex or sub-area), it might be a localized issue not yet widely reported. LA County emergency management contacted but no reply yet. For accurate info:

  • Check official FEMA disaster declarations: fema.gov/disasters.
  • Local LA County/Marina del Rey updates: lacounty.gov/emergency or marina del Rey-specific community pages.
  • If you’re a resident affected, contact local authorities or FEMA directly (1-800-621-3362) if you believe there’s an immediate safety threat.
